@FGW WHERE THE HELL IS THE AIR CONDITIONING????!!!!!!
— WriterSStone (@WriterSStone) July 7, 2013
@FGW the 17.26 from Chippenham to London – just spoken to lovely guy working on buffet car who said air con is down on 3 carriages!
— Lucy Buckland (@Lucy_Mirror) July 7, 2013
Utterly appalling service on the @FGW. Just what you need on a sweltering day, not.

People are literally passing out on this @fgw train. The windows are bolted shut and the air conditioning is off. It is criminal.
— Paul Miller (@pmiller67) July 7, 2013
Hey, @FGW, why is both the heating and the air condition on in your 9.21 train from Paddington to Oxford and beyond? Waste of energy..
— Arnoud Breitbarth (@ARDBreitbarth) July 8, 2013
I think this must be about 6 journeys in a row with delays. Just what you want on a baking hot day – overcrowded stationary trains. #fgw
— Joe Clarke (@MrJoeClarke) July 8, 2013
Love the lack of any apology for the dangerous heat on this @fgw train
— neonexpress (@andywg) July 8, 2013
@FGW so you'd rather run the service at the expense of your travellers health? Over 30c and not even water offered for 2hrs not acceptable
— Lucy Lonsdale (@lululonsdale) July 9, 2013
Make that crawling towards Dartington. On hot airless @FGW train, who are apparently saving carbon footprint by cooking passengers.
— Sarah Churchwell (@sarahchurchwell) July 9, 2013
Thanks @FGW the 1646 from Bristol Parkway to Warminster is just one coach without a/c! Gonna be carnage.
— Ralph Greenwell (@ralph_greenwell) July 8, 2013
No aircon on the train!! Sweatbox or what! First Great Western – I thank you! (Not). ;-(
— Ash Bailey (@CinderfordAsh) July 9, 2013
@FGW 10:50 Padd to Oxford. Packed with people standing the entire length. Def no aircon.
— Greg Jenkins (@DigiJenks) July 9, 2013
@nettynoo73 Sorry, the temperature is set at the depot. Really tricky to get it right for everyone. Jess
— First Great Western (@FGW) July 9, 2013
Is it really? Set at the depot? That kind of contradicts the thermostat idea, right? We’re no experts in these things, but we do know that a thermostat is set to a temperature and – in theory – heating or cooling is applied as necessary. "Set at the depot" suggests something very different. As a silly question, get a bunch of inconsistent answers.
So, continuing on the poor ventilation, broken air conditioning, and potentially having the heating on in summer.
It seems that the air con First Great Western insists on blasting us with when it's snowing isn't available this evening. #traintweets

My 7 hour train journey with no air con has been terrific. First Great Western: Redefining comfort. Had to take my boxers off at Exeter
— Hector Trend (@HectorTrend) July 8, 2013
Stuck on a packed train outside Bath with zero air-con. Seems @FGW are serving up passenger flambè tonight. Might not make it.
— Mark Burvill (@antifuzz) July 8, 2013
@FGW no air condition on a train on a day like this? The great views on journey back spoilt by the uncomfortable heat on train. Not good
— Chris Nelson (@nelsonchris82) July 8, 2013
@FGW – Hottest day of the year and no aircon on trains out of Paddington… did you not see the weather forecast????

@FGW Does that happen a lot? I'm on the delayed 1:18pm from Reigate to Guildford. I am melting. Thank God I don't have further to go.

Excuse me @FGW but how can u justify locking windows on a train and providing NO air con as claimed on the signs! Pregnant women feelin ill
— Chris Stroud (@Chris_Stroud) July 14, 2013
GUESS WHAT YOU GUYS i am on a slow @FGW train and the windows are all locked and the AC isn’t working! o/
— Emilie Renard (@eflatmajor_) July 14, 2013
@FGW yesterday from Paddington. Train like a sauna, toilets blocked like a rock festival. No water in taps.
— Stephen (@StephenPBriggs) July 14, 2013
@FGW air conditioning! What air conditioning? This is in inhumane trafficking shame on you great western, sheep would travel better
— SYF87 (@SYF87) July 13, 2013
@FGW 30 degrees – packed train – no aircon and no windows to open –
— AJT (@ad5m) July 13, 2013
@fgw On a train to London paddington from Henley and it is ROASTING on here! You need to turn the air con up…
— Naomi (@naomi2122) July 13, 2013
@FGW aircon not working on 21.30 pad-BTM. Windows don't open. No announcement. Shocking service on hottest day of year.
